Born in 1990, in France, and graduated with the congratulations of the jury of Beaux-Arts de Paris, Pierre Pauze completed his studies at Fresnoy - Studio national des arts contemporains in 2019 - promotion Michelangelo Antonioni. Winner of the Artagon Prize, and the Agnes b. in 2016 and of the ADAGP Révélation Art Numérique Art — vidéo prize in 2019, he notably exhibited his work at the Cité internationale des arts, the Carreau du Temple, La Villette, the Magasins Généraux, or the Brownstone Foundation in Paris, as well as than at the Es Baluard Museum in Mallorca or at the K-Museum of Contemporary Art in Seoul.
Please Love Party, presented at Fresnoy - Studio national des arts contemporains within the framework of Panorama, is a double forbidden experience. The first is to have synthesized a love drug in the laboratory, in the form of a potent psychotropic, and to have made "homeopathic" versions of it, via transfers of molecular information in water. In this water, no trace of the drug is observable by the means of current science. The second experience is a re-enacted evening where about 20 subjects agreed to be watched by cameras, drinking only "love drug-informed" water. The film Please Love Party is the observation of this experience via scientific laboratory protocol and its diversion into a poetic version. The project is co-produced by Le Fresnoy - Studio national des arts contemporains, Futur Antérieur production and DICréAM of the CNC. In partnership with a community of scientists, including the TISBIO laboratory in Lille, and with the support of the General Stores where it will be exhibited in preview at the Futur of Love exhibition.
Since 2019, June Balthazard and Pierre Pauze have been working on a common project: MASS. The MASS installation will be shown for the first time at the 2020 Taipei Biennale, titled You and I don’t live on the same planet. It is produced in partnership with the Taipei Biennale, Hermès, Le Fresnoy - Studoinational des arts contemporains, Futur Antérieur Production, La Scam and the Cité internationale des arts. The sociologist and philosopher of science Bruno Latour and the independent curator Martin Guinard-Terrin will pilot this 12th edition, which will take place from November 21, 2020 to March 14, 2021. The event will continue the dialogue on geopolitical and geohistoric questions started during the 11th edition, centered around the coexistence between man and his environment and the symbiotic relationships between different environments. With MASS, June Balthazard and Perre Pauze will integrate the “new diplomatic meetings” set up by the curators of the Biennale.
Born in 1991 in France, June Balthazard studied at the Institut Supérieur des Beaux-Arts (ISBA) in Besançon and at the same time at the Haute École d'Art et de Design (HEAD) in Geneva in the Cinema / Real Cinema department. . She also did a post-diploma at Fresnoy - Studio National des Arts Contemporains where she made two documentaries: La rivière Tanier and Le Kiss du silure. His work mixes heterogeneous elements. In particular, she confronts the documentary with forms that are more distant from reality, which do not betray it, but on the contrary illuminate and transfigure it. In this sense, his films are imbued with magical realism.
