Since 2012, Jean-Baptiste Sastre (director & performer) & Hiam Abbass (actress & director) have been working together to develop shows within associations that represent the human fabric of the territories.
Thus, their collaboration led them to work with the companions and companions of Emmaüs in France, with a choir of homeless people from the city of Berlin Straßenchor, with street children from Venice Beach in Los Angeles, with Haitian- Americans In Action (HAIA) in New York, with children from the Balatah refugee camp in Nablus, Palestine, and with children from villages in the Galilee at the Nazareth Center for the Deaf and Dumb in Israel. Among these projects: Phèdre the birds by Frédéric Boyer, Les Mamelles de Tiresias by Guillaume Apollinaire and Plea for a new civilization by Simone Weil.
Since 2017, Hiam Abbass and Jean-Baptiste Sastre have been working on a triptych dedicated to the challenges and hopes of modern society as seen by three 20th century thinkers: France against Robots and other texts by Georges Bernanos, presented at the Festival Off d'Avignon 2018, Plea for a New Civilization by Simone Weil, presented at the Festival Off d'Avignon 2019, and Notre Jeunesse by Charles Péguy, presented at the Festival Off Avignon 2021.
